The act of painting in nature is the best way to discover a true connection to self.
After a 30-year advertising and marketing career throughout the United States, Mary Louise returned home to the Bluegrass to paint. She devotes the greater part of her days to painting and writing at her small farm in Nicholas County. Plein air painting is a favorite because it provides a multitude of subjects and at the same time it challenges one’s patience and palette. Her painting style has been influenced by the study of fine arts and the management of creative design and mass communications.
In 2007 she won a merit award in the Stoner Creek Art Guild show at Paris’s Hopewell Museum. She is a member of the Plein Air Painters of the Bluegrass, Courthouse Square Arts Guild and Ohio River Valley Arts Guild. Most recently she has participated in group shows at Gallery B, Central Bank, Lexington Art League and The Paris Art Walk.
