Marjorie Sauer

Was born in 1934 in Musues Mills, Kentucky. She was the 7th out of 8 children.

Marjorie was born to be an artist and she is self-taught. She played around with art for years, married and raised 2 children. She didn't start living passionately for art until the early 90's. Marjorie dabbles in all types of media, oil, acrylic, photography, but her specialties are papier-mache sculptures, and mosaic, which are all hand-done.

Marjorie belongs to the ORVAG and has taught some adult and child art classes. She also attends the Maysville Community College and has been asked to teach a few classes there as well.

She has had art work displayed in several museums; "Goldilocks and the 3 Bears" in the Lexington Children's Museum, a few pieces in "A Folk Art Museum" and "The Kentucky Gateway Museum".

One piece, "The Twin Towers" (now sold) was in a 9/11 national traveling art show. Marjorie has given a few pieces away for charity.

Marjorie's Largest piece of mosaic artwork, "Jesus is being Baptized", is the central focus for the baptistery in the sanctuary of the Stone Lick Baptist Church.
