OLD BUSINESS

  1. Jim Moose asked about the artwork that has been photographed and given to the City of Maysville Tourism Director, Duff Giffen.  Donna Huber had called Duff concerning the matter but received no reply. Donna will call again.  Claudia announced that members are invited to look at space at the Conference Center on Friday, August 25 at 2:00pm for exhibiting during the Rosemary Clooney Festival. We will ask about the trash container art at that time.
  2. Ken Swinson suggested we have the annual art auction later in the year since October is such a busy month.  The date will be Saturday, November 7th with social hour at 6:00 pm and dinner at 7:00pm. Auction will begin at 7:30pm.  Ruvonna Bevard suggested an Italian theme using candlelit tables for 4 in the center of the Guild. We will need about 25 card tables. Bring what you can from home including warming dishes and trays. Each member will bring an Italian dish for the auction dinner. Ruvonna has done a lot of planning for the event and will be in charge of tablecloths and general organization. It was decided that each member will contribute a piece of art for the auction and either the member or a friend or family member will make the opening on his/her art donation. Karen suggested some sort of charge for the dinner.  It was decided we would have a special donation bowl in case guests wanted to pay for their dinner.  Ruvonna will get tickets for members to sell in advance of the auction for a door prize. Tickets will also be available the evening of the auction.  Ken volunteered to do a poster for the auction.
